To file a formal grievance with the Los Angeles Unified School District, under Section 504 and Title II, please click here to learn how.“ Carnegie Middle School's Site Based Culmination Policy for 2017-18In addition to meeting the District's criteria of 50 credits in 8th grade (no more than 2 F's), Carnegie MS will hold students to the following site-based criteria:
a. U's in Cooperation - No more than 2 U's per semester or a total of 4 U's per year in cooperation.
b. Attendance - Students must have 96% attendance rate or higher (no more than 8 absences per year).
c. Detention - no unserved detentions.
d. Fines & Debts - Clear all fines and debts.
e. Discipline - Students must daily exhibit good behavior and citizenship. Egregious disciplinary infractions will exclude students from participating in Carnegie's Culmination Ceremony School Parent Involvement Policy and School Parent CompactA copy of the the School Parent Involvement Policy and the School Parent Compact were mailed home on Friday, January 27, 2017. 10-MINUTE RULE—Please adhere to our policy which states that there are no passes for the first and last 10 minutes of class.
ISSUE PASSES FOR NUTRITION & LUNCH IN YOUR ROOM— Students must have teacher-issued passes for visiting classrooms at Nutrition and Lunch. Passes must state the date, time, destination, student name, and feature a teacher signature. Thank you for helping us to keep our campus secure, safe, and orderly. LAUSD Culmination RequirementsAny 8th grader with 50 credits during their 8th grade year is eligible to culminate. This means that if a student received two Fs in the Fall Semester they are still eligible to culminate, as long as they receive all Ds (or higher) in the Spring Semester.
